Privacy & Cookie Policy
This policy explains what personal information this website (garytheexpert.com, operated by Gary Clinton / Bulletproof Recovery, Ireland) collects, why, who helps us process it, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Irish data-protection law. Plain English, no tricks.
The short version: we only collect what we need to reply to you, send things you asked for, take an order, and understand how the site is used. We never sell your data, and you can ask us to delete it any time by emailing info@garytheexpert.com.
Who we are
The data controller is Gary Clinton, trading as Bulletproof Recovery (registered business name "Gary The Expert"), based in Ireland. For any privacy question or request, contact info@garytheexpert.com.
What we collect, and why
- Your email address — when you subscribe to the newsletter, request a free guide, or join a waitlist. We use it to send you what you asked for and occasional recovery support. Legal basis: your consent.
- Name, delivery address and contact details — when you order a test kit, so we can post it to you. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.
- Payment details — kit payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; we only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and the delivery details you provide. Legal basis: performing our contract.
- Anything you send us — by email, the contact/booking forms, or when you book a consultation. Legal basis: your consent / taking steps to provide a service.
- Usage data — pages visited, rough location (country/region), device and browser type, and how you arrived. This is aggregated analytics, used to understand and improve the site. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the site.
Cookies & analytics
This site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies:
- Google Analytics 4 — sets cookies (e.g.
_ga) to measure visits and how the site is used. The data is aggregated; we don't use it to identify you personally. - Cloudflare — provides privacy-friendly web analytics and helps keep the site secure and fast.
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Who processes your data
We use a small set of trusted providers to run the site and services. They act on our behalf, under their own strong privacy obligations:
- MailerLite — email newsletters and lists
- Stripe — payment processing for kit orders
- Google Analytics — website analytics
- Cloudflare — analytics, security and content delivery
- Netlify — website hosting
We never sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as we need it: newsletter details until you unsubscribe; order details for as long as required for the order and our tax/records obligations; analytics data for a limited period in aggregate. When it's no longer needed, we delete it.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to withdraw consent, to object to or restrict processing, and to receive a copy of your data. Every marketing email also has a one-click unsubscribe. To exercise any of these, email info@garytheexpert.com and we'll respond promptly.
If you believe we've mishandled your data, you have the right to complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
A note on confidentiality
Anything you share as part of a therapeutic or coaching relationship with Gary is treated with professional confidentiality, separately and more strictly than this general website policy — it is never used for marketing and never shared, except where the law requires (for example, a genuine risk to life).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time; the "last updated" date above will always show the current version. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
